Venator is a gruff and serious stallion. So extreme is his desire to punish diabolists, that he will gladly slap innocent children about if it has a chance of helping him in his goals.[citation needed]
A well known member in the Order of the Arrow.
Role in the story
Venator searches the area near the Middle Kingdom Castle for signs of demons, the same area he just found a passed out child reeking of demon magic.
He finds the dead Sanguitoid body and bags it on his way back to camp.
He finds Alacris being verbally dominated by the now conscious foal who is asking many questions.
Venator takes over the conversation and demands that the colt, Emerald Jewel, tell him everything.
Emerald claims he was attacked while just exploring those caves, and that he'll only say more if Venator first takes off the hoofcuffs.
Venator slaps the impudent pony. Probably an adult in disguise, so it's fine.
The obvious warlock continues to play innocent, that he just stumbled into those demon caves.
Now his story has changed to that of running from his step-parents, that they abused him.
He does have an enchanted cock ring though to go with part of his claim.
But he's not answering why he's in the caves. And he seems to be gaining an immunity to slaps.
Taking a break from interrogation, Venator has breakfast while Alacris packs up camp.
The little demon summoner cosies up to Alacris and is very inquisitive.
Hearing him ask what'll happen to him, Venator says he'll be purged, once he can prove he's in league with demons.
The walk continues and the little liar is faking an injury. Venator gives him a real one.
Emerald suddenly decides to drop his step-parents in it some more, saying they are the ones who use demon magic.
He says the caves are connected to the castle which he escaped from. Venator asks who these step-parents are.
He hears Emerald out, who also details more of their abuse and his escape too.
Venator asks if they ever collected his fluids, which Emerald confirms.
Alacris asks if this means a portal. But Venator says it's probably from the fabric of reality being weak.
But that's if any of this is true. Venator asks Emerald if he has any proof at all.
Emerald tries using his gold necklace as proof, but it's just expensive, that's all.
They change their heading for the castle instead.
More pleading from the foal, and an attempt to draw demonic runes, he finally brings up a knife.
Emerald says that he took a knife from some demonic room and that it should be near where he was found.
Venator agrees to check for it, and surprisingly the knife is found. It's enough for him to believe most of Emerald's story, and enough to let the foal stay with Alacris in safety as Venator heads to the castle alone.
Emerald warns him of his step-parents, but Venator knows enough about the Jewel Family already.
First Venator goes with Alacris to the Inn in town, to make sure Emerald is kept secure.
He tells the innkeeper to not let anyone in the room, and tells Alacris to not let Emerald leave the bed.
No-one argues with him and everything is set. He heads to the castle to confront the Jewels.
